Just switched from Canon to Sony and could not solve my remote connectivity issues. I have been on every forum and video imaginable but you were the only person who ever mentioned needing to push the remote in a bit harder. Issue solved! Thank you so much.

Great video. We're on the east coast of SFL and were at South Seas Resort the weekend before the storm. Our anniversary tradition was dinner at Mad Hatter. So sad to see it all devastated but love to see the islands bounce back.

Great video - thank you!! We'd stayed at the Island Inn years ago, then the spring before Ian we stayed at Beacview Cottages - we loved both, but Beachview was our favorite. I just booked a condo at Sanibel Siesta on the Beach for next spring and can't wait to return!!

i miss bellini's restaurant on captiva. now they put some stupid modern residentials in the midde of what was supposed to be a recreational shopping and dining area. damn investors. what the hurrican leaves, speculants kill the rest of the beauty. there should be an island committee preventing specualant activities of this kind.

My sister and I went back shortly after you shot this video. Our family owned Twin Palm Cottages for a few years when we were kids.

Oh my gosh Sanibel looks so so much better !!! It was so heartbreaking right after the storm to see what was left or what wasn’t left BUT this beautiful island is on its way back !! Thanks for showing us the progress!!! Sanibel is still on my bucket list !!!!

Thank you for this video! I am planning my first trip to Sanibel/Captiva. I am so confused because i have read that there are no vehicles allowed on Captiva Island. However, this video is quite contradictory to that. Can someone please confirm for me that vehicles are in fact allowed on the island?

Thanks for posting this update. I agree on the background music, was annoying after so long. So happy to see many improvements, and return of foliage. Tremendous progress, much more to go but more hopeful than before. It will just take time. Wooden leg, Lori! Hilarious! Aaaarrrggghhh! IMHO, the jingle music is annoying. You haven’t used that before, have you? Ding Darling Wildlife Drive can be walked on Friday, it just can’t be driven. Indigo Trail is open seven days a week for walkers and bicycles. I think you can ride a bicycle on Wildlife Drive on Friday I’m not 100% sure of that. A really strange site between Barracudas and the turn where the flashing light is. It looked like a wall or a warehouse. Definitely new, as that used to be a vegetated area. Any idea what that is? Thanks so much for another wonderful video!

Brilliant tour - thank you. We are heading to Sanibel mid - April so hoping things have taken shape since this video. Always stayed at Seaside Inn (sooooo sad ...) and Waterside (also wiped off the map..) so this time will be different. Hope to see an update tour soon!

Thank you for the detailed video, my family has been visiting Sanibel for the past 30yrs. It has a special place in our hearts. We cut our stay short a day before Ian hit although very reluctant, it was obviously the right decision. We watched in horror the devastation that took place from our home in Wisconsin. Glad to see things are coming back. I know there are many important projects that need to be done, but is there any talk of when the fishing pier might reopen?

SanCap road is bald compared to the beauty that existed when I first moved to Fort Myers in 1973. I find this to be so depressing. The foliage was the beauty, which hid the beautiful houses which you could never see from the road. I lived on Sanibel off Periwinkle in the 80's and we used to party at all the clubs, including Tween Waters and Crow's Nest. Good Times .

Loss of life is terrible no matter how it happens, but I just don't feel sorry for people that lose homes, etc. in places like this. WHAT do you think is going to happen if not today, then tomorrow where hurricanes hit. The cost to rebuild, only for the very next year it could happen again.. The reason the rest of us are paying higher homeowners and insurance companies are leaving left and right. You chose to build in these places, you should pay all costs. No insurance.. Build at your own risk. .
